Directory methodology
How listings are reviewed and ordered.
The editorial, ranking, sponsorship, and evidence rules behind the Prox provider directory.
Approval workflow
A member submits a versioned listing containing provider details, structured features, plans, prices, links, disclosures, and media. Staff review that immutable revision and may approve it, request changes, or reject it with a recorded reason.
Published pages continue showing the last approved revision while later edits are reviewed. Administrative changes and moderation decisions are audit logged.
Ordering
Category lists are ordered first by complimentary Featured listings, then by active CPC bid, then by publication date. Eligible homepage sponsored placements remain labelled separately and are not mixed into category CPC order.
Buying placement does not create a review score, alter feature values, or change independently collected proxy measurements. Listings stay unpublished until staff approve a submitted revision.
Evidence and limitations
Structured fields make services easier to compare, but many facts originate with providers. Prox distinguishes provider claims, directory workflow state, commercial relationships, and automated observations.
The free proxy list has a separate measurement methodology because endpoint observations are time-bound and do not establish identity, permission, privacy, or safety.
Corrections
Providers can submit revisions through their account. Network operators can use the dedicated free-proxy correction and suppression process. Material conflicts may cause a listing or endpoint to be hidden while evidence is reviewed.
