A useful address without another inbox

Every verified Prox member can now claim one free @prox.onl email alias. It gives you a separate address to use for registrations, newsletters, shopping and the many other places that ask for an email address. Anything accepted for the alias is forwarded to the verified email already attached to your Prox account.

There is no separate mailbox to check and no new password to remember. You keep reading mail in your usual inbox. Prox handles the public-facing address and the forwarding route.

Built for receiving mail

The alias is deliberately receive-only. It cannot be used to send mail or impersonate a normal mailbox, and the destination cannot be changed to an arbitrary address. Forwarding always follows the verified address on your member account. If that address changes, forwarding pauses until the new destination has been verified.

You can use tagged forms such as yourname+shopping@prox.onl or yourname+news@prox.onl. They all reach the same destination while making it easier to see where an address was used and to create inbox rules.

Spam is checked before it reaches you

Mail reaches the Prox relay first. The relay rejects unknown recipients, malware, clear authentication failures and strong blocklist matches before accepted mail is forwarded. Suspicious traffic is rate-limited: normal mail keeps moving, bursts wait in a bounded queue, and abusive volumes are refused instead of being silently discarded.

Prox keeps delivery totals and failure information for operating the service. Message bodies, subjects, sender addresses and attachment names are not copied into the website database.

You stay in control

The member page shows the alias state, forwarding totals and the most recent delivery result. You can pause or resume forwarding at any time. You can also rename the alias once every 30 days; the old address is then reserved temporarily and stops accepting mail.
